HAPPY HOUR

The number one thing that has helped me cope with my day-to-day adaption to my anxiety is finding my happy hour. No, not that kind of happy hour… the Ludic happy hour. I have found that setting aside 1 hour of my day to do something that makes me happy has truly shaped the way I handle stress. I’m not sure about you, but for myself stress always leads to anxiety. There’s not just the standard that causes stress like work, but I also find myself stressing about not being good enough, did I do enough today? Did I truly give today my all? What about my friends, I wonder if they are so far ahead of me kind of spirals that then lead to me being so overwhelmed and anxious it’s hard to recover. I started waking up and planning 1 hour of my day that was set aside for something that was supposed to make me happy. Not work, not social media, not spending money or vacationing; happy hour is something you can do without hesitation or the need to spend money (something that makes you even more anxious) lol. I started to read, go for really long walks, draw, listen to music, cook, turn on my favorite movie, make my favorite coffee, enjoy nature… I could go on. Giving myself this time even if only for an hour started to shape my view on stress and started to open my eyes to the many blessings around me, that happiness truly does come in so many forms that can be so easily discovered. My journey with anxiety is one that is day to day. However, finding time for your HAPPINESS can truly change the game. I urge you to write down the little things that make you happy and find time for them. Find time for them no matter how busy you are, no matter how stressed you are. You are allowed to find happiness in the mix of chaos. This is where our happy hour collection stemmed from and to this day, is my favorite collection of all.
